Start here
- Open the addon: type
/sfbhor/sleepyfloyd. In version 1.6.33 and later, use Settings → AddOns → Sleepy Floyd Bargain Hunter, or/sfbh config. - Open an auction house before scanning. Choose categories, Max gold and minimum rarity, then click Start Scan. Max gold is a per-item filter, not a total spending budget.
- Pause and resume: Resume Scan refreshes the current category and keeps results. Changing filters, reloading or logging out clears the resumable scan. Other auction searches can pause it.
- Buy Next: opens a matching auction for review. Confirm the exact item and live price yourself. The addon never bids, buys or spends gold automatically.
Common questions
What does Unverified mean?
WoW did not provide enough data to confirm an item’s eligibility or collection status. Those listings are skipped rather than assumed to be uncollected. Open Details or Log for reasons. A completed scan can still have skipped items.
Resume does nothing, or I see a Lua error
Check the version at the top of the addon window. Version 1.6.34 fixes the status-tooltip error; 1.6.35 fixes Resume Scan failing while resetting the commodity panel. Update from the source that supplied your addon, type /reload, reopen the auction house and start a fresh scan. Finish or cancel any open purchase confirmation before resuming.
The addon is missing or still shows an older version
The folder must be named AppearanceShopper, with its AppearanceShopper.toc file directly inside it. Install it in World of Warcraft/_retail_/Interface/AddOns/, not a Classic folder or a nested ZIP folder. Enable Sleepy Floyd Bargain Hunter in WoW’s AddOns list. Restart the game for a new installation; use /reload after replacing an existing copy.
The scan is slow or pauses
Large scans can take several minutes. The addon respects Blizzard’s auction-house throttling. Leave other auction searches idle, keep the auction house open, and disable Detailed diagnostics unless troubleshooting. A displayed timeout or readiness message can help identify the cause.
What to include in a bug report
- Addon version, WoW version/build, and Windows or macOS.
- The steps you took, what you expected, and what happened instead.
- Selected categories, Max gold, minimum rarity, and the exact item name if relevant.
- A screenshot or the full Lua error text, plus other auction-house addons you use.
- The latest scan log, if available. Copy it into your email or attach a text file.
Please do not send passwords, account credentials, or your entire WTF folder. Crop unrelated chat and character information from screenshots, and review logs before sharing them.
Collect a useful log
In 1.6.33 and later, local logging is on by default unless you turn it off. Click Log… or type /sfbh log save. Click inside the text, select all and copy: Cmd+A / Cmd+C on Mac, or Ctrl+A / Ctrl+C on Windows.
If more detail is needed, type /sfbh log on and /sfbh log verbose on, start a new scan and reproduce the issue. Use /sfbh log raw to copy the retained diagnostic data. Turn detailed diagnostics off afterward with /sfbh log verbose off.
Logs stay on your computer and are never uploaded automatically. History is limited to three scans and 500 events per scan, with large fields truncated. /sfbh log clear clears history without changing shopping preferences. Older builds have different logging defaults and limits.
