Review Blocked.

Mail Shepherd 3.0 for the Mac App Store (build 535) · Updated October 24, 2026

Review Blocked lists messages in Junk and Trash from blocked senders (Mail Shepherd’s Blocked Senders or Mail’s Blocked Sender List) or from your Blocked Domains, newest first. Reading the list changes nothing in your mail.

Each row shows the sender’s address with their name in parentheses, the subject, when it arrived, and its mailbox and account. On the right, a person with a red × beside the first line means the sender is blocked, and a globe with a red × beside the second line means the domain is blocked; either or both can show. The legend in the footer, after the message count, says the same.

The list

  • The header has a checkbox that selects all or none, two menus, the account menu and Refresh.
  • The first menu shows Blocked by Domain or Sender (all of it), Blocked by Sender Only, Blocked by Domain Only or Blocked by Domain and Sender. The second shows All Ages, or only mail More Than 1 Day Old, More Than 3 Days Old or More Than 5 Days Old. Each choice shows how many messages it matches, and a message a menu hides is unselected.
  • The account menu shows All Accounts or one account. It’s shared with Contacts, Sweep and Review Junk: choosing an account on one chooses it on all.
  • Junk and Trash are read the first time a Review page opens after a Sweep, an Auto-Sweep, a Review action, a change of account or a change to the spoof checks, and whenever you click Refresh. Otherwise the list you saw last is shown, so switching pages is quick. Review Blocked and Review Junk share one read.
  • While it reads, the list empties and says “Loading…”, and Refresh turns into Stop (⌘.). After Stop, click Refresh to read the list again.
  • Click a row (anywhere but its checkbox) to see its details in place of the page.

Delete Selected

The footer’s Delete Selected shows how many messages you’ve checked, such as Delete Selected (3). Messages in Trash are deleted permanently; messages in Junk are marked read and junk and moved to Trash. Only checked messages the menus show, and that are still from a blocked sender or Blocked Domain, are acted on.

When Ask Before Deleting is on in Settings, it asks first (“Delete 3 Messages?”); click Delete Messages to go ahead. Holding Shift, Control, Option or Command as you click makes it ask even when that setting is off. Checking “Don’t ask again” in the question turns the setting off.

While it works, its progress and Stop take the button’s place. There’s no message when it’s done: the deleted messages are simply gone from the list, and each one is recorded in the Action Log. If something couldn’t be deleted, an orange warning icon appears in the footer; click it to open the Action Log.

Messages deleted from Trash are gone for good. See Deleting and Safety.
